Sale Sale Sale Sale

I sold another story.  To a pro-paying magazine.  Details to follow once contracts are all worked out etc…  But man, it’s nice to have a sale.

Follow Heinlein’s Rules for Writers. It pays off.  Seriously.  I almost trunked this story due to thinking that the content might make it too hard to sell.  Ha! I was so wrong.  Good thing I ignored that stupid inner demon voice, eh?

So yeah, I have to go dance on a couple more rooftops. Then, I really should finish this novel.

Sometimes the pro sale arrives just when we need it. My WOTF win came at the end of a very stressful and disheartening year at my civilian job. Two weeks later, my asshole boss was fired. November 2009 wound up being almost perfect as a result. (grin) WAY TO GO ANNIE! I am sure this is just the first of many, many to come.

    Woo-hoo! Congrats, girlfriend!

Congratulations! That’s a great story (by which at this particular juncture I mean that the story ABOUT your story is a great story); and, not to sound too lame, but it’s kind of inspirational to a kid like me.

Let us know where your words are at when they come out!

    Cheers,

Grats. And strangely, I’m glad to hear that this was a story that you almost trunked. It’s a good reminder to send out no matter what. I’ve had my doubts at times about my older stories and wanting to give up on them, but I just got to keep sending ’em out.

Good job and keep at it!

And also looking forward to reading it (and yours Brad)

Go Annie, go! That’s your first pro-rate sale, isn’t it? (Your use of the hyphen suggests this may be a fledgling market that doesn’t qualify for SFWA yet; am I close?) I know it feels good. I bet the second feels good, too…I am yet to find out.

Keep it up. There’s more success out there with your name on it.

Yes, the market is new (though apparently has writers like Cat Rambo and Mary Robinette Kowal lined up to be published). More formal announcement tomorrow since I’ve got the contract signed now and sent off. 🙂

And yeah, feels good. Is nice to know my first sale wasn’t a fluke.
