Book 6 and Sundry

Update!

Book 6: Thicker Than Blood is nearly ready. It’ll be out this month (September). I know I said August, but the plans of mice and writers, eh?

Health stuff continues as it was. My life is an episode of House, basically, except I haven’t coded on a table yet. It’s slowing down the work a lot, but books are still being worked on, no worries.  It is just unlikely for the near future that I’ll be able to keep up the pace of releases I had last year, so it will probably be at least 3 to 5 months between books going forward, sorry! I don’t want to release anything I’m not 100% happy with, so hopefully the wait will be worth it.

Meanwhile, if you haven’t read the first three Twenty-Sided Sorceress books for some reason or have friends or pets or dolphins or whatever that haven’t read them, there’s a special sale going on now where you can get the bundle for $0.99. This is only good through Sept 6th!

I am excited for the release of the book 🙂 and for your health issues, may I recommend broad spectrum antibiotics and an EKG? I’ve watched a lot of house and it seems to work for them 🙂

Ha! Alas, antibiotics are part of what got me to where I am. I can’t take them anymore or they might finish killing me 😉

But I haven’t had an EKG in a while. I’ll…uh…suggest that to my specialists next time I’m in!

I am excited for Thicker Than Blood, and love the series…I’m obviously anxious to get my hands on it; but i don’t want you pushing yourself too hard with all the health things going on. We can be patient and we will read it when it’s done and its ready.
Take care of yourself, that should be the most important – especially when it’s something that you can’t control and answers seem so far away from being possible. I’ve been there myself. Eventually answers will surface and the mystery will be solved and more healing can begin.
Take care of yourself, and don’t feel a bit bad about the books.

    Sounds like you need an assistant/girl friday/keeper. Preferably someone who is able to keep an eye on you and your health as well as shouldering some of the load, but, also someone who can tell you no and make it stick… ;
Hoping that your health issues get sorted out so your life is more manageable… So, please, take care. After all, if you dont take care of yourself, how will we get more books?

Stoked! Just finished rereading all of them

Coming out of lurkerdom to say thanks for the update on Book 6. I’ve been checking Amazon almost daily! Now, I won’t be as obsessive and will bide my time.

Sorry about the ongoing health problems. I hope a less frenetic schedule will help even if the doctors don’t. Take time to look after yourself. (Re: House. As someone who has SLE (among other things) the ongoing lupus joke got a little old and I kicked that show to the curb after several seasons. I thought the writers were jerks for taking it as far as they did. 🙂

Last, but not least, many congratulations on your Alfie Award! What an amazing end to an utterly crazy Worldcon/Hugo year.

I’m a big fan and have been impatiently waiting for the newest book. I want to apologize for the impatience now. I myself have been sick for the last almost 3 months and I know how it feels to try to do anything when all you want to do is lay down and be still and wait for the sick and pain to pass and the doctors can’t seem to figure it out. I hope you feel better soon. And remember if House suggests Lupus its never Lupus ;). I think I speak for all of Jade’s fan when I say your health is more important than our entertainment and we’re not going anywhere.

I’d love to pre-order Thicker Than Blood on Amazon but don’t see that option. If that option were available you could come out with it anytime that was comfortable for you and I wouldn’t worry about missing it. Might take some of the heat off you from all your rabid fans (me included). And you could tend to your health.

    • Annie

There’s no pre-order on this book, sorry. However, if you are scared of missing the release, you can sign up for my mailing list. I don’t spam people, just announce sales, release dates, and occasionally give away free books. 🙂

I cant wait for the next book. I am soo looking foreward to it. Sorry to hear about your health issues. If too many antibiotics was causing you more problems, try probiotic or yogurt.

    • Annie

It should be the 30th. If not, it’ll be the first week of October at latest (upload times can vary, so it isn’t totally in my control, sorry!)
