October News

That’s the cover for book 9 of Twenty-Sided Sorceress. The good news is that this will be out in November.

The bad news is that Harper’s Tale won’t be out this month as planned. This story uses some real-life stuff (fictionalized of course) from my own life and that of friends, and it’s proving to be very emotionally difficult to write. I want to get the story right, but I can’t keep letting my perfectionism hold up the rest of the series. Jade’s story can keep going while I work on Harper in my spare time.Ā  So I’m letting Harper’s story rest while I work on books 9 and 10 (cover reveal for the 10th and final Jade Crow book will come in December or so).

Thank you all for your understanding and patience. I think you’ll enjoy books nine and ten and I’m looking forward to making them my focus so it doesn’t take a year between them, which I know y’all will also probably prefer šŸ˜‰

Thank you!
Annie

December 2016 Update

Quickie note here about December releases. Due to holiday vacation times at the various retailers, Dungeon Crawl will not be up on Barnes & Noble, Apple/iTunes, or Kobo until early January. I believe I can get it live on Amazon before Christmas, though with the holidays I can’t promise that. So far Amazon hasn’t said upload times will be affected or that they’ll close processing new titles around the holidays, so fingers crossed.

So… book is coming this month, just maybe not to every retailer this month, sorry.

October 2016 Update

Quick update.

Harper’s book is taking longer than I expected. The themes in this book are very close to home for me and I want to make sure I do it justice. I’m almost done, but considering time for external editing and formatting etc, it’ll be another couple weeks until release, sorry.

Book 8 is in progress also (yay juggling multiple deadlines) though I’ve set it aside for the moment to give Harper full attention at the end here. But I don’t foresee missing any deadlines on book 8, so still aiming for that to release before end of 2016.

Also have a secret project I’m involved in that I think ya’ll will love and that should be revealed soon, too!

In even better news, just approved the audio for book 4 of 20sided, so Hunting Season should be up on Audible within the next two weeks (depends on how long it takes them on their end to get it live). It sounds awesome. šŸ™‚

Also… I’ll be doing a signing with a bunch of other awesome science fiction and fantasy authors at Powell’s onĀ November 20th. For details click this sentence. So if you want signed books or just want to nerd out with me, come hang!

And that is October’s update.

The Little Extras in Life

(If you haven’t read books 6 and 7 of The Twenty-Sided Sorceress, this post contains a giant spoiler. You were warned!)

Peeps!!!! The awesome artist Rob Carlos (http://www.colorsmith.com/) drew/paintedĀ his interpretation of Jade’s dragonĀ (taking only from description in the text plus his imagination of course).

It’s finally done. I get the painted version hanging in my office. Ya’ll get the digital of it here. If enough people want, I’ll see if Rob can offer prints of it etc as well. Ā Please respect the copyright of the artist. šŸ™‚

So here’s one interpretation ofĀ Jade in her dragon form. Enjoy! I am know I am (seriously I can’t describe how awesome this looks in canvas IRL. It’s gorgeous.)

Schedule Shift

Well, I *was* going to take more of a break from Twenty-Sided Sorceress and work on a couple Pyrrh novels, but I’ve fallen behind due to a few factors (one of which is this year I’m putting health first instead of work first, sorry). Ā That and, as I sit here finishing up a new Gryphonpike novella which should be live by July or so, Harper won’t stop crawling into my head and telling me all about what happens in her book. Ā I have enough notes about her book now to practically be an outline in and of themselves, ha.

So… I’m pushing Pyrrh off until end of year/X-mas time and going to work on Harper’s book and probably Dungeon Crawl next. Again, no promises on release dates, but I’m loosely aiming for September for at least Tribes (Harper’s novel).

I’m also working on a secret Urban Fantasy collaborative project that I hope I can announce by this fall. It fell into my lap and I think it’s awesome and couldn’t resist saying yes.

So yeah. Once again, plate is full but hey, 20sided sooner than later is good, right? šŸ™‚

Thanks for your patience and all the kind words I’ve been sent about my health. I am super focused on getting as healthy as someone with chronic illness can get so I have more energy and more time to devote to writing kickass books as well as living my life more fully.

More news soon, I hope!

Release Date

Okay, I finally feel comfortable giving a new release date on book 6. I know it isn’t the date ya’ll want (which would have been yesterday, I know, I know), but I think it is safe to give one now and hopefully having a nice solid date again will alleviate some of the questions/concerns I’m getting!

Thicker Than Blood will be out on November 10th.

Thank you to everyone for your patience on this and your understanding about my health etc. I’m truly sorry for the delays.Ā  I know six months is a long time, especially given the “zomg what!?” ending of book five but thank you for hanging in there with me for Jade’s story to continue.

May all your hits be crits in the meantime!
