May Update

Hi. We’re here. In May. Yep.  Basically the short version is: I’m still dealing with mystery back/butt injury that might be a neurological problem and living in pain isn’t fun or productive. Also developed some fun new symptoms in the last few months so I’ve been living on like 3 hours of sleep average a night. I won’t bore y’all with personal details.  But 20sided book 10 is nearly done I just can’t give firm date cause I’m working whenever I’m able and I refuse to release this book without it being exactly the book I want.  So I’ll say in the next couple weeks but it might be a little longer. I dunno. I’m working on it.

Meanwhile, if you are desperate for more fiction, I’ve started a Patreon (mostly to grandfather into the old rates, there’s not much happening yet) and there are some posts and stories up there for the early adopters. After I finish Balancing the Scales (and hopefully after we hit the main goal), there will be new stuff and if you join up, you can have a say in things like what I work on next, character names, etc…  So check it out:

https://www.patreon.com/anniebellet  (the Patreon is especially for you if you want more Gryphonpike or Pyrrh, cause the whole point of it is to see if peeps want me to finish the older, neglected series etc)

Anyway, seriously I want to thank all of you for your epic patience. Hopefully I can deliver the best birthday present (ie a finished, kick-ass book) for May (my bday is May 12th so I’m hardcore aiming for before that for release date, but we’ll see).

2017 Wrap-up

Quick update:

I hurt my back while traveling at the end of August and instead of getting better it got worse until it has severely impacted my ability to do anything, sorry.  I am seeing yet another doctor in December, and I think we’ve finally figured out what is wrong, but it is going to take 4-6 weeks to know if treatment/physical therapy is working and likely many more weeks of physical therapy before I’m back to some semblance of normal.

So… writing is going slowly. If you’ve ever been in a lot of pain, you know how unpleasant and difficult it is to do even the most basic tasks, much less keep track of complicated tasks, characters, time-lines, etc.  As always, I won’t release a book I’m not 100% satisfied with.

That said… Book 9 is almost done (but not edited etc yet) and I’ve already written some parts of book 10 (it follows closely on book 9’s events). So my plan at the moment is to finish both books before the end of the year, and then release them in January fairly close together (depending on edit time needed etc).

I’ve got a lot of plans for next year, but of course my health is always the limitation on my life plans. It sucks, but it’s my reality and I’m trying to work through it as best I can. My hope is that I can stay illness and injury free next year and bring you all a lot of kick-ass books because this book-a-year pace makes me sad. I have far too many ideas to get out before I die and I want to write them all NOW, damnit.

The TLDR: bad news- I’m hurt and work is going slowly due to that, sorry.  Good news- books 9 and 10 should release in the same month so you won’t have to wait nearly a year for the end of Jade Crow’s story.

(also, I’m planning a novella epilogue for Jade and another novella prequel for Kira’s series. I’ll be doing a cover reveal for Kira’s series in February as well and trust me, these covers are knock-your-socks-off awesome)

October News

That’s the cover for book 9 of Twenty-Sided Sorceress. The good news is that this will be out in November.

The bad news is that Harper’s Tale won’t be out this month as planned. This story uses some real-life stuff (fictionalized of course) from my own life and that of friends, and it’s proving to be very emotionally difficult to write. I want to get the story right, but I can’t keep letting my perfectionism hold up the rest of the series. Jade’s story can keep going while I work on Harper in my spare time.  So I’m letting Harper’s story rest while I work on books 9 and 10 (cover reveal for the 10th and final Jade Crow book will come in December or so).

Thank you all for your understanding and patience. I think you’ll enjoy books nine and ten and I’m looking forward to making them my focus so it doesn’t take a year between them, which I know y’all will also probably prefer 😉

Thank you!
Annie

Level Grind

paper-books-finally

It’s here! Release day for the new omnibus paperback and hardcover(!!!) editions of The Twenty-Sided Sorceress. Books 1-4 are collected here in Level Grind, with 5-7 to come in January in Boss Fight.

The book should be available in your local bookstore, but if you want to order online, here are some handy links:

Powell’s Books (my local bookstore, and I’m going to go sign some stock, so there’s always a chance of grabbing a signed copy)

Barnes & Noble website

Amazon.com

Tribes: Harper’s Tale is coming in a couple weeks, Dungeon Crawl (book 8 of 20sided) by Christmas.  Meanwhile, enjoy the awesome paperbacks! They’ll make a nice set.

September Update

Finishing up Harper’s book, Tribes, this week. Which means given time needed for edits and formatting etc, odds are it might not come out exactly in September, sorry. Might be the first or second week of October. The print volumes for the first 4 Twenty-Sided Sorceress books are  out first week of October, so it’ll be like double bonus?  Shiny hardcover 20sided. I am going to hoard ALL the copies.

Tribes has been scary and awesome to write. It’s longer than any 20sided book so far (you peeps asked for longer books, I’m doing my best to deliver while still keeping up action and fast pace that I love so much, hehe), and maybe the nerdiest thing I’ve written, which you know is saying a lot.  I’ve only done a little cosplay, so I had to do tons of research for various characters in this. I did almost lose part of a finger (3 stitches!) to making a bunny fur bikini once, but I’m not great at sewing or crafts unless you count painting D&D minis (and I’m only decent-ish at that). Anyway, enough rambling about a book you can’t read for at least 2 more weeks, sorry!

Brood Mother, the last Gryphonpike Chronicles novella (there will be 4 novels, it isn’t the end of GPC just end of novella length GPC) is basically done but again needs edits etc and I set it aside to work on Tribes.

Dungeon Crawl, Book 8 of 20sided, will be out by Christmas/Holidays. I’m not going to give a harder deadline than that until it is done, for obvious reasons.

Also have a couple other crazy projects in the works that I’ll be excited to announce. Tease? Why yes.

So that’s the September update.

Bad News

Thicker Than Blood is going to be delayed until July 21st.

I’m sorry, peeps. I know how much you all want to read this book (and it’s my favorite that I’ve done so far, so trust me, you really do), but I’ve been really sick all month and the book isn’t ready. I refuse to release something I’m not 100% confident in, so please have patience. Life happens, and I’d rather take a couple extra weeks with my betas and editors to make sure this book is everything I know it can be.

Thank you for understanding.

Signed Paper Books!

I’m doing a little experiment, with some help from a bookstore called Powell’s Books. They are the largest independent bookstore in the country and totally awesome.

So here is how it works. The Powell’s at Cedar Hills Crossing is carrying some of my books (after a very successful signing back in November) and I made a trip in to sign them.  So there are a very limited number of copies available, signed, right now. If this works and people want more signed books, Powell’s and I can coordinate more orders and I’ll make another trip to get stuff signed.

Below I’ve put book covers for the books that are available. Each cover links to the Powell’s website. Click the link of the book you want a signed copy of, and buy it! Powell’s ships pretty much everywhere, I think. Here is the slightly tricky part: you want to check the sale page and make sure the book is still listed as in stock at Beaverton, or your copy will be shipped from the warehouse and won’t be signed. So make sure it says in stock. Quantities are limited as this is an experiment.

Here are the books you can choose from:
